Finally, there may be a gathering this Sat. This is an informal gathering so it HAS NOTHING GOT TO DO WITH SCHOOL. So Please inform your parent if you want to come that this is not school based, this is organized by the seniors. The thing is a gathering at one of our member’s house, Chandruth’s. He stays at Regentville, which is the condo next to Hougang Point. To get there do not worry, I can meet some of you at Hougang Point first then head there. Erm the purpose of this gathering is to welcome the Sec 1’s and also get to know them a little better. Likewise for the Sec 1’s, you can get to know the seniors. Anyways, I will get your ICs to contact you again. This is not compulsory. It is just a gathering to chit chat and play pool. For those who dunno how to play, don’t worry, we can teach you. Hi everyone, this is my first post here addressing everybody. Just to let you know, the current strength of the robotics club from Sec 1 to 4 is 35! But sadly…after the first term, all the Sec 4’s will be leaving to focus on their Os. I hope you don’t miss me….
Anyways, talking about the sec ones. I would like to give a warm welcome to Alvin, Andrew, Shaun, Jia Hui, Jin Ling, Dominic, Ubaidah, Hafiz, Iskaandar, Aden, Pi Sheng and Tong Shen. WELCOME GUYS! Also, we have new comers from Sec 2 and 4. We also welcome Marcus Poon, Jun Tat and Jeremy.
Ok, the main purpose for this post is to generally let you know the groupings for the upcoming competition. As most of the seniors know, the early part of the year is where all the competitions are. The three main competitions are Mini-sumo, Soccer and Micromouse (MM). These three competitions would be held on the 21st of Feb, ITE Tampines. Sec 1’s, your names are in Itallics. The first name of each group would be the leader.
For Sumo, the groups are as follows: Team 1 1.GGH (Guai Guan Hui, we call him GGH or Mr Guai) 2.Daniel Chan 3.Jun Tat 4.Alvin
Team 2 1.Kevin 2.Jeremy 3.Jia Hui 4.Udaibah
The training would be held at an ITE on the 25th of Jan. All are going except GGH. Names have been submitted already. The IC for this competition is GGH. His number is 91922704 but he prefers you to call his home, 63870795. There would be a mini-briefing on the 18th of Jan, this Fri, after school for a short while.
For Soccer, the groups are as follows: Team 1 1.Wei Ren 2.Dennis 3.Marcus Poon 4.Jia Wei
Team 2 1.Cher Ling 2.Shanelle 3.Hui Ting 4.Gavin
The training would be held at an ITE on the 1st Feb. Only 4 people are going for this event. The 4 names submitted would be Nick (not participating), Wei Ren, Cher Ling and Shanelle. The reason Nick is going is because he will be coming back to teach the program to the rest of the team who did not go. The IC for this would be Nick, handphone number 90099259. Ok, there will be a mini-meeting on Friday, the 18th of Jan. This is just to settle some housekeeping matters. After school.
For MM, the groups are as follows: Team 1 1.Yan Qi 2.Jin Ling 3.Pi Sheng 4.Tong Shen
Team 2 1.Pearlyn 2.Dominic 3.Andrew 4.Shaun
Team 3 1.Chandruth 2.Hafiz 3.Aden 4.Iskaandar
The training…well there is no professional training done by lecturers so the next best thing is training by ME! Haha. Yes there will be training for all these people done by me and Yi Kuang on the 22nd Jan from 230 to 5. Training will be in school, D and T robotics room. IC for MM would be Yi Kuang, HP number is 93913482.
